Amazing Rooibos Tea Benefits

What is Rooibos Tea, you ask?

You may be surprised that you sometimes get black tea when ordering red tea. This is because different regions have different rooibos and rooibos teas. Because in China, red tea is used to refer to traditional black tea. Red tea in Western countries refers to rooibos. Rooibos is not a tea because it does not contain any Camellia Sinensis Tea plant leaves.

Health benefits of Rooibos Tea:

1. Aids Weight Loss

Drinking rooibos is a great way to enjoy a tasty beverage that doesn’t add weight, just like green tea or black tea. You can enjoy a cup of rooibos without worrying about putting too many calories into your body. If you are trying to lose weight, don’t add sugar, honey, or other sweeteners to your rooibos tea.

2. Enhances the appearance of skin

Rooibos tea has alpha-hydroxy acids, which are the main ingredients in chemical peels and other skin treatments that can be obtained at your dermatologist’s office. Alpha hydroxy acid, which is not a common ingredient in food, can be used in rooibos to improve skincare and reduce wrinkles.

3. Alleviates Pain

Rooibos Tea contains antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory properties. They help reduce inflammation and the sensations of aches, pains and other symptoms. The anti-spasmodic substances in rooibos can help relieve stomach pain, such as cramps, by activating potassium ions throughout your body.

4. Allergies

The bioactive flavonoid chrysoberyl is a South African tea that contains this brew. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Rooibos can relieve symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis by acting as a bronchodilator.

5. It helps to build strong bones.

Like many herbal tisanes and true teas, Rooibos tea contains minerals like calcium, manganese, and fluoride, which help build strong bones. These minerals increase osteoblast activity, which is responsible for building solid bones mass.

6. Streamlines Digestion

Many Americans have digestive issues. There is no sign of a slowing down in the rise of digestive problems such as Celiac disease and acid reflux. Although many digestive problems can be attributed to a poor diet rich in processed foods, increasing evidence supports the benefits of tea for digestive health.

7. It May help control or prevent diabetes.

The consumption of rooibos may prevent Type 2 Diabetes from developing. An animal study in Tokyo in 2013 showed that polyphenols found in rooibos could lower blood sugar and increase glucose tolerance in diabetic mice. Although rooibos is not a cure for diabetes, regular tea consumption may reduce insulin resistance and improve symptoms.

8. Heart Health Supports

Rooibos tea is excellent for your heart and keeps blood flowing smoothly. This tea contains the chrysoberyl flavonoid, which is a bronchodilator. It is also an effective agent to lower blood pressure and increase circulation. While rooibos helps relax blood vessels, antioxidants help lower bad cholesterol and prevent plaque buildup.

Side effects of Rooibos Tea

Red rooibos is considered safe and has shown little to no side effects. Side effects that may exist are rare and limited to a few people. They usually do not occur in large quantities.

Hormones

Rooibos tea is known to have estrogenic activity. This means that it can increase estrogen production. Although it is not something to worry about, women with breast cancer and other hormone-sensitive conditions may wish to consult a doctor before drinking rooibos.
